FIS - Overal L PROVINCIAL PLAN 2007
GOD’S CALL
The Da Mihi Animas calls us to live passionately our Salesian Apostolic Consecration where members responsibly take part in strengthening and supporting each other.
Our return to Don Bosco challenges us to a more authentic and prophetic expression of the Salesian mission and new modes of evangelization that prioritize the poor and marginalized youth.
Don Bosco urges us to invite others to the Salesian life and nurture those already in the ministry.
SITUATION
There is the weakening of Salesian Communities seen in the low number of community members and their tepid celebration of common life and prayer.
There is the a strong desire for more authentic practice of the Salesian Charism, especially the Preventive System
There is a need to make some of our works more relevant to the needs of the recipients of our mission.
Our Vocation Recruitment has yielded few qualified candidates. The process of accompaniment has not been very effective as indicated by low perseverance. There is also the lack of interest and involvement of Salesians in vocation promotion. Likewise, the support and nurturing of those in initial formation and those already in the ministry have been inadequate in all levels.
