Indonesian Nuncio Cup -– Golf for Youth Skills Training

JAKARTA, 14th November 2008 -- On November 11th, looking for local funds to support ITM projects and formation, Fr Boedi, with friends of Don Bosco in Jakarta, organized the first Charity Golf Tournament. The proceeds will be mainly used as counterpart for the international funding of the Salesian Training Center in Sumba.
    About 144 peeople participated in the whole day event, including the Philippines Ambassador and other good benefactors. Many persons and companies also offered prizes including four cars for those who won the hole-in-one prize. This fundraising activity was a success, knocking on the doors of wealth as golf balls got knocked into the holes.
    The Vatican Ambassador for Indonesia, Mgr Leopoldo Girelli, a past pupil of Salesian Oratory in Italy,  was one of the sponsors of the event. He was joined by Fr. Andres Calleja, provincial, in awarding the Nuncio Cup and other prizes to the winners during lunch time.
