novitiate is located at Ba Thon in Ho Chi Minh City, where there is
also a Parish and a Youth Centre. Altogether as part of the formation
community there are 6 priests with 2 young brother assistants, and 2
perpetually professed Salesian Brothers.
Earlier in the month, on 4th August, the Salesian
Sisters had 8 Sisters making their first profession with a further 25
novices covering both first and second year of novitiate. The
professions took place at Tan Ha, Thu Duc, HCM City where the novitiate
is located. This is also the location of the Provincial House, a
Kindergarten and a Youth Centre. A day later, on 5th August, 10 Sisters
made their perpetual profession at a ceremony at which Bishop Anthony

The Mass was concelebrated by some 30 priests, mostly Salesians.

chance. The Sisters intend to open a community in his diocese
next year. There are presently 150 Salesian Sisters in Vietnam.
