3729_Caritas Sisters of Jesus GC12 - Mother General and her new councilors

Beppu, Japan, September 1-6, 2015 - During the recent XII General Chapter of the Caritas Sisters of Jesus was elected a new general council. Three months after the loss of the former Superior General the former Mother Apollinaris Yuriko Shimura (June 2015)

The short elective General Chapter member elected the new leadership of the Congregation. The discernment process of the election was guided by Fr. Stefano Yang, SDB (provincial SDB, Korea)

The new Mother General Sr. Teresia Furuki Ryoko was for last 11 years a member of the General Council (councilor for formation) and previously also a missionary in the Philippines (Caritas Secondary School in Santa Rosa, Laguna). She is well known for her artistic talent - composing poetry and music for evangelization.
