By Fr. John Baptist Trần Ngọc Phát, SDB
Montevideo, Uruguay -- On September 8, 2018, the Salesian Province of Uruguay (Montevideo - URU) celebrated the Eucharist with perpetual profession of Cl. Dominic Tran Duc Thanh, Vietnamese missionary in Uruguay since 2012. Dominic is currently studying theology at the Facultad de Teología del Uruguay - Monseñor Mariano Soler. The venue was Salesian parish of Mary, Mother of the Church and St. John Bosco.
The SDB provincial of Uruguay, Fr Alfonso Bauer, many Salesians, Salesian family members, young people and guests came to celebrate and witness the perpetual profession of Dominic. Beside, there were present other two Vietnamese missionaries - Deacon Peter Nguyen Duy Anh SDB and Sister Bui Thanh Huong FMA who participated in this joyful Eucharistic celebration. Many young people and large number of Salesians of the URU (Uruguay) province witnessed the perpetual profession.
Cl. Dominic has chosen as motto for his perpetual profession to be motivated and determined in his Salesian commitment through his entire life of serving Christ in the young: "The love of Christ compels us" (2 Cor 5:14).
Let us have a joyful day to thank God for his commitment to Christ forever as well as continue praying for his Salesian consecrated life in the province as a missionary. We would like to thank to the Uruguay Province Social Communication Office for the posting of photos and videos on the FB page.
