4579(I)_Ninth Salesian Games with 3000 participants

Bangkok, Thailand, 9 December 2017 -- Salesians of Thai Province gathered together to celebrate the opening ceremony of the 9th Salesian Games at Hua Hin Vithayalai school. The ceremony was presided by Fr Dheparat Pitisant, the Provincial together with Fr Smith Dangampan, president of the school commission, and Fr Somrote Chaichana Rector and Principal of the school.

There were almost 3,000 participants from Hua Hin Vithayalai school, St Dominic school Bangkok, Sarasit Pithayalai school Banpong, Sangtong Vithaya Had Yai, Don Bosco Vithaya Udonthani, Don Bosco Technical college Bangkok, Don Bosco Technical college Banpong, and Don Bosco home Bang sak. In the opening ceremony there were marching band from all schools, and performances to entertain all the participants, and ended by the good night talk from the Provincial.

The purpose of this Salesians games was to encourage students to develop there physical appearance, emotion, and social communication. There were 14 sports in this event such as, soccer, basketball, golf, swimming, cycling etc. The competition began on December 6 - 9, 2017.

On December 7, after sports competition the Salesian band whose musicians were from all school participated had it performance at Hua Hin Market Village for all people who interested in music. And at the same time there were teachers sport competition at the school as well.

The ending ceremony was held on December 9 to reward the winner athlete. Then the Provincial pass on the flag to the next host school for next Salesian Games which is Don Bosco Vithaya Udonthani.
