Sudden demise of Thailand Salesian Historian

Bangkok, Thailand, 12 March 2017 -- A distinguished Italian Salesian Missionary from Brescia, Fr. Enrico Danieli (1937-2017) arrived as missionary aspirant to Thailand in 1955 (62 years of missionary life) and was living faithfully the Salesian consecrated life for past 59 years (novitiate in Hua Hin, Thailand),. He passed away on March 12, 2017 suddenly due to heart attack in Bangkok.
During his rich Salesian missionary life Fr. Enrico was involved in many different ministries. After priestly ordination in 1968 he served the Thai youth in many schools (Udonthani, Bangkok, Banpong), in parishes (Banpong), in formation houses as well in the Southern Thailand missions of Surrathani diocese (Muslim majority regions).
Fr. Danieli was lately also distinguished as THA provincial historian and participated in many EAO Salesian Historical Congresses and published many articles about Salesian Charism in Thailand.
His funeral was presided in the Salesian Parish of Banpong by Mons. Joseph Prathan, SDB of Surrathani diocese and particiipated by numerous members of Salesian Family. R.I.P. - in the Salesian cemetery of Banpong.
