5706(III)_Don Bosco Ben Cat Parish, VIE: Closing the Journey of Food Support for the Poor
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 08 October 2021 -- Since the outbreak of the disease began in early June, under the encouragement and guidance of God and Our Lady, Don Bosco Ben Cat Parish (Go Vap, Ho Chi Minh City) has been continuously supporting food for people day and night, despite surrounded by difficulties.
And when society entered the “new normal” phase, with the 10th round of support, the parish also closed that journey with a lot of feelings of love mixed with concerns. It was meaningful that the last round of support took place on the feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary (October 7), as expected and planned by the parish priest Peter Pham Huy Hoang SDB.
Each food package in the support phase included 1 box of instant noodles, 10 kgs of rice, 1 box of milk, 1 bottle of soy sauce, 2 boxes of fish, 1.5 kg of pickled radish, 1 kg of fish and 1 kg of meat (or 1 kg of spring rolls and 1 kg of chicken) and was sent to 687 poor households in ward 05 Go Vap district and in the parish of Ben Cat. Participating in every supporting round were collaborators, aspirants and students who belong to Don Bosco Ben Cat Community
This supporting journey can be called “the multiplication of bread”. According to the pastor’s wish, the parish will certainly continue to open new paths to raise the steps of orphans who lost their parents in the pandemic.
