4079(II)_Road Map 2022 for the new Viceprovince PGS
PGS Viceprovince - General House Rome
July 24, 2016
General House in Rome, 20 July 2016 -- As every newly appointed provincial also Fr. Peter Baquero was invited by the Rector Major for a personal encounter with the Successor of Don Bosco and his councilors, during the days July 17-24 in Rome.
The first Superior of the PGS Vice-province was able to meet personally all General councilors for the sectors (Formation, Youth Ministry, Social Communication, Missions and Economy), to get more familiar with the central services of the Congregation (Secretary General, Secretariat for the Salesian Family, Post Office, ANS). During the personal dialogue with the Rector Major Fr. Baquero received also the Road Map for his period of term 2016-2022, as fruit of the consultation process and interaction with the General Councilors.
During his stay in Rome Fr. Peter did submit for approval of the Rector Major also the members of the PGS provincial council, enjoyed a good time with Fr. Valeriano Barbero, the founder of the mission in PNG, now in Italy for his longer health treatment until next October.
The personal encounters with the Sector councilors are helpful to share also the different development going on in the two countries of the Vice-province: strengthening the vocation promotion moving the Aspirantate out of Boroko Campus of the DBTI, finishing the construction of the Provincial house, qualifying the confreres and preparing the First Provincial Assembly of the confreres next November - to prepare the main institutional documents like OPP, SEPP and Provincial Directory.
We wish the young Vice-province a lot of wisdom and focus during the first years of building together the new provincial community. Also the PGS confreres realize that from last July 9th (installation and start of the Vice-province) they are responsible for promoting the Salesian Charism and for the healthy growth of the Salesian Life and Mission in PNG and Solomon Islands.
