Congratulations, 11 May 2016 - Among the most vibrant Salesian news services - AustraLasia news - reached 4000th news item.
According Fr. Filiberto Gonzalez, General Councilor for the Social Communications the AustraLasia news is a very important tool that fosters the sense of belonging to the world wide Salesian community as well the mutual sharing of Salesian news within the EAO region Salesians and beyond (January 2016 - report to the general council).
Thanks to many open minded and hardworking confreres and members of the Salesian family the 18 years old EAO regional service is going ahead. Almost every day you may get some bit and piece from some of our 23 countries forming one of the 7 Salesian Regions around the world.
Who and where are the daily AustraLasia readers?
There are some 1400 email addresses to which the news are daily send from the editors PC in Seoul. According the current statistics (May 6,2016), the larger group of readers are based in the provinces of Australia, China, FIN-FIS, Korea, Mongolia delegation, Thailand - Cambodia and Vietnam missionaries. About 85% are the Salesians and 15% are members of other Salesian family groups.

Not only the official Social Communication provincial delegates or designated Salesian confreres or Salesian family members - but any Salesian or SF member can contribute any time. We are grateful for the regular contribution of many FMA sisters, contributions from Mongolia delegation. Not only some special event, but also a vocation story, meaningful community experience or tradition may become easily a good news for many other Salesian family members.
