2017 Provincial Community day with the Young people

Daejeon, Korea, 23 September 2017 -- Traditional Salesian Province community day of 2017 (September 22-23) in Korea, Daejeon make the history. For the first time it was not only a communion and thanksgiving among the Salesians, but also a wonderful family venue with the participation of 60 boys from Salesian houses who joined the SDB for this occasion.
As usual the one night two days event was held in the Salesian Youth Training Center in Daejeon - Chong-lim dong. On Friday (September 22) the SDB Korean Martyrs Provincial Community Day was started with a carefully prepared prayer based on the Jesus-Vine Tree Gospel and Biblical Icon of GC27, followed by the talk of the Extraordinary visitor, Fr. Klement about the Provincial community communion building with many inspiration stories from the Salesian World community. Fr. Vaclav highligthen some important principles of provincial and world community building, where each one Salesian can contribute.
After Vespers and dinner followed by the Rosary was one hour time dedicated for Group sharing, this year according age groups, all 100+ participants exchanged their experience and wisdom about two topics: How can i contribute to the growth of communion within our provincial community (14 local communities, 120 SDB with 3 novices and 17 candidates (prenovices and university or military service aspirants) and What might be the contribution of the Korean province to the world wide Salesian Congregation?
The peak of the evening program was a fraternal agape with academy and thanksgiving to the Jubilarians - six confreres celebrate this year the Silver Jubilee of their profession (including Brs. Benedict Baek, Simon Lee and Antonio Kim) and Fr. Francis Kim shared his feeling after 50 years of religious life.
On Saturday (September 23rd) the morning Eucharist was the last moment celebrated among the SDB. This second day was spent together with the boys from Salesian houses mixed with the Salesians for the 1st Korean Salesian Soccer Tournament. All participants experienced together a wonderful Oratorian spirit around the soccer field in cheering, sharing and playing together.
