5071(II)_Six Bosconians baptized at Easter - ATS Hong Kong
Young people in Hong Kong chose Jesus - Easter 2019
April 24, 2019
Aberdeen Technical School, Hong Kong, 24 April 2019 -- During this Easter Triduum, the Aberdeen Technical School Religious Team held a spiritual camp for the students to prepare themselves, especially for those who received the gift of baptism, for the Easter celebration. The Religious team, together with the Catholics, catechumens and those who want to know more about the God of Jesus Christ, gave their support and kind accompaniment for the six students who received the sacraments of Initiation during the Easter Vigil.
We attended the Chrism Mass in the Cathedral and then the Lord’s Supper mass on Holy Thursday. Many of them were joining for their first time and they were amazed by the beauty and richness of the Liturgy. The next day, we had a joint retreat with the Altar boys of Salesian English School in Shau Kei Wan. They were reminded to “choose Jesus”, and asked God before they make a decision.
Then we went back to ATS for the Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion. On Holy Saturday, we have a pilgrimage to the Church of the Annunciation and St. Thomas the Apostle Church, which has a unique and meaningful symbolic baptismal font and then followed by the preparation of the Easter Vigil. The highlight of the retreat camp was to celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord, and to witness the newly born Catholic on the most holy night.
After the Easter Vigil Eucharist, the new-born Catholics shared the most touching moment, most of them found that the moment for the First Communion was a touching experience. They felt the overflowing love of Jesus directly for the first time.
Let’s rejoice and be glad for them, and fill with joy in the Risen Lord. May these days of grace may deepen their relationship with Jesus and strengthen the team spirit of the Religious Team. May the Risen Lord bring us blessings.
