Yogjakarta, Indonesia, 30 July 2017 -- Three years after the AYD 6 celebrated in South Korea last August 2014 with the presence of Pope Francis today was open the 7th Asian Youth Day (AYD) in Indonesia, Yogjakarta.
One full week of faith, culture and youth group sharing events were carefully prepared for last 3 years on large scale by the Indonesia Catholic community, the fourth largest in number in Asia (after the Philippines, India and China).
The theme of this AYD is 'Celebrating Diversity' of Asia Youth in a variety of cultures, languages and faith. The main goal as expressed in the official AYD 2017 prayer is to help the Asia Catholic Youth to proclaim Jesus in their multicultural and multi-religious environment with respect, friendship and courage.
Among the youth participants from 26 Asian countries are also some Salesian Youth Movement, SDB and FMA participants from the EAO region.
We are inviting all EAO participants especially from the Indonesia Delegation (ITM) to share their experience.
