austraLasia #2623 An Easter moment of hope in Pakistan
QUETTA: 11 April 2010 -- Bishops, Clergy and Religious, and lay
helpers have all benefited from the priestly ministrations of Fr Peter
Zago in the immediate lead- up to Easter and beyond.
Fr Peter was busy past during Holy Week with
the preparation and delivery of the recollection for all Clergy and
Religious on invitation of Fr. Victor, the Prefect Apostolic, who
pleased with an earlier retreat he had given to the Bishops during
their four day meeting in Quetta. One fo the first Pakistani Salesians,
Bro. Eric, was instrumental in this preparation and delivery with his
illustrated (Powerpoint) input.
On the Wednesday of Holy Week the community went to
the Ziarat summer house for a Recollection for the 20 co-helpers and
teachers at the Oratory. The Ziarat Recollection experience was
indeed very rich in spiritual content for the youth as well for the
three Salesians, Bro. Eric, Bro. Carmelo and Fr Peter himself. As he
put it: "we are fine, serene and more than ever commited to our not
easy mission".
There are moves afoot to bolster the mission in
Pakistan with additional manpower. _________________ AustraLasia is an
