EXTENSIVE INFORMATION ON SALESIANS IN FIJI NOW
AVAILABLE
Julian Fox
SUVA (Fiji): 6th March -- I realise we are
'beating the Fijian drum' a little these days - but there's also a lack of news
from elsewhere! You will have to keep the other news rolling in to
distract me! By the way, 'beating the drum' is not just a metaphor
here. It is the way messages are passed on (and you thought that only
happened in the Africa that Joseph Conrad wrote about). Schools and Churches
abound in the 'lale' Imagine Italy with drums instead of Church
bells. On second thoughts, Rome had enough difficulty coming to terms with
Samoan chiefs breaking the dress rules in St. Peter's recently!
Now - if you would like detailed and interesting
information on the Salesian presence in Fiji, we have it all on Bosconet in a
format that is pleasing to the eye and which tickles the imagination. It
is a 'must read'. Try it by going in directly to http://www.bosconet.aust.com/Fiji.htm
but if for any reason the direct route plays up, go in via Bosconet's front page
to sdbworld, to Asia-Pacific and thence to Fiji. Enjoy - and give yourself
some time once you accept Mika's invitation (he's the boy on the waterfall at
our very first outing with a group of students from St. John Bosco's
school).
