INTERNET SUCCESS WITH VOCATIONS!
by Shane Reade
MELBOURNE: 3rd Feb -- The Australian Province
already has one New Zealand confrere, if it counts Fr. Hans Dopheide who
migrated there from Holland post-war and finally joined the Salesians in
Australia, but now it has a 'true-blue' Kiwi candidate in the person of Philip
Hadley who found out about the Salesians from the Salesian presence on The Web
and then was given good counsel by his spiritual director. Philip is doing
his prenovitiate year in Hobart with the DeSales community - where beautiful
Tasmania will remind him of home territory.
The vocations page on Bosconet is well worth a
look if you have not yet seen it. Just run a search under 'vocations' on
the search engine on Bosconet.
New Zealand does not yet have a Salesian
presence, but shortly a Cooperator group will be forming in Auckland, and more
involvement with Auckland is expected as part of the developing presence in the
Pacific Islands. It may be a question of 'watch this
space'.
