Learn,
Live and Lead like Don Bosco
PORT
MORESBY: 2 May 2012 - Don
Bosco Technological Institute in Port Moresby, held its first
leadership camp for this year, 2012 with the theme:
‘Learn, Live and
Lead like Don Bosco’.
The camp was held within the school campus commenced on the
30th March
and concluded on the 1st of April and saw leaders from
religious clubs;
interest clubs, cultural club and all classes representatives
from
different year level participate in workshops and fun games as
well as
the team building activities.
They had experienced and professional people give some
insights and
tips of the different roles and their responsibilities that
they hold
in their respective groups and classes.
The camp was made possible by the organizing committee made up
of
students in the Pastoral Team: John Viritia, Alice
Kalama, Isaac
Yango, Leslie Brown, Narol Sapak, Cecilia Amala, Jacinta
Aidaboe,
Juliette Mwalota and few others. The zealous and hard working
staff
behind the scene includes Ms. Lorreto M, Ms Evelyn T, Mr
Jerome, Mr
Joseph M and Mr Francis B together with the school’s Spiritual
Moderator, Sr. Pamela Vecina, FMA.
The camp was a successful one where many students have earned
so much
from the inputs and talk given by Fr. Charles Casper on
the Qualities
of Bosconian youth leaders, and the management skills
session was
given by Fr. Louie, Castañeda, while the record-keeping
skills training
was facilitated by Sr. Alice Fulgencio for secretaries and the
treasurers are given simple bookkeeping skills by an invited
Business
studies teacher.
This effort is a response to formation needs for DBTI leaders
as
indicated in the SEPP this year and a way to know more
and imitate our
Father and Founder, Don Bosco.
