Sharing the joy of working with the young - Taiwan
HONG KONG: 4th July 2007 -- Several young Salesians of
China Province are not long back from a pastoral experience in Taiwan
that they want to share with people. As one of them said in his
recent brief note to austraLasia: 'my purpose [of making a slideshow
which will be noted below] is to share the joy of working for the young
with others'.
The group visited three communities in Taiwan.
In Taipei, St. John Bosco's Parish and in Tainan, Salesian Technical
School and also the parish. In these places they met youth
groups, shared their own vocation story, and encouraged the young they
met to seek guidance from other Salesians in discerning God's plan for
them.
They spent most of their time at Boys' Town, Chao
Chow. There they assisted the boys and organised some
outings. As our correspondent put it: 'Through our apostolate we
have experienced and reflected on returning to Don Bosco, especially to
his heart, his zealous concern for the boys' bodies and souls.
Isn't it accurate, what the Rector Major proposed for GC26 - return to
the young to return to Don Bosco? With the young we discover and
then become Don Bosco in the young and contemplate the face of Jesus
Christ'.
