Voice of Don Bosco now to be heard in Khmer
SIHANOUKVILLE: 27th April 2007 -- Tomorrow, 28th April, the DBS Radio
program (Don Bosco Sihanoukville Radio) goes to air for the first time. Initially
it intends to transmit just once a month, on the last Saturday of the month,
for a one hour midday slot. Mr Kim Sean, who also took part in the Radio
seminar conducted by a Cambodian journalist, Mr So Rathany, of the
Promeanchey Radio station, will conduct the program. He is a past pupil of
Poipet communications efforts in the past year.
The headmaster of Don Bosco Technical School, Mr. King
Kroch, will be the coordinator of program topics concerning technical
education, Don Bosco, past pupils and issues of concern to youth in the port
city of Sihanoukville and the south of Cambodia.
Sihanoukville is located in a strategic position in the Gulf
of Thailand, halfway between Thailand and Vietnam and in proximate location
also to major centres to the south such as Malaysia and Indonesia. It is
possible that the youthful voice of Don Bosco reaches as far as radio waves
permit.
