Alive and young - but who on earth is Paul
Cat?
NEW ORLEANS (probably): 23rd April 2007 -- There is more serious and probably more
important news to report, but tomorrow. For now, after this afternoon's
discovery quite by accident, your attention is drawn to yet another blog!
Alive and young! http://aliveand young.blogspot.com. To be honest,
I was seeking some particular material on 'cybermemes' (that can keep to
another day) and Salesianity when I came across two rather interesting sites -
one is a Salesian cyberspace spirituality group ('Salesian' as in Francis de
Sales and Jane de Chantal), and the other is 'Alive and young'.
Now, you will need a sense of humour, but you won't get far
through this blog without realising that the young blogger is quite possibly a
Salesian affiliate of some kind (and this time I mean Don Bosco, Mary
Mazzarello...). A past pupil, perhaps? A confrere in disguise? Or am I making assumptions here - it could be a
Salesian Sister! Paul Cat, if that is who he really is has, as someone
describes him on his own page, 'an enjoyably goofy blog' for you to read.
And the story of Brittany who wants to join the convent, the Salesian Sisters
no less, and - if you can believe it - raises some $3,000 odd via this blog to
pay off her student loans, is hilarious.
So enjoy. Our blogger has a serious note at the
beginning however. It appears there has been a death in the family and
he's gone home to spend time with them - rightly so, asking our prayers. I'm
only sorry that I couldn't spell 'feel' correctly in responding to that!
