TRANSLATING DON BOSCO FOR 20 YEARS - INTO
KOREAN
SEOUL: 30th December '03 -- Salesians
in Korea have been lucky. They already have many important Salesian texts
translated into Korean, and for the past 12 months have received by email,
daily, a 'Good Night' text for their use. It has all been the work of Mrs.
Teresa Lee, the young sister of Fr. Rafael Lee, the current novice master
in Korea.
Mrs. Lee, also known by her Korean name of Seon Bee, has
been translating Salesian texts since her university days in 1983. She
began with catechetical materials requested by Fr. Henry Bonetti, then Rector at
Kwangju. Later she began to work for Don Bosco Media in Seoul - the
circular letters of Fr. Vigano`, Fr. Vecchi and now Fr. Chavez; the Ratio, works
on the Preventive System, Salesian spirituality, biographies of Saints from the
Salesian Family.
Mrs. Lee's efforts are considered to be extraordinary
and particularly helpful as the Korean province begins to celebrate its first 50
years of existence in 2004.
