Hua Hin, Thailand, April 1, 2016 - Fr. Paul Prasert, the Salesian superior of Thailand, Cambodia and Laos communities, gives his impressions on the Provincial Chapter 2016 in Hua Hin, Thailand (March 28 - April 1). Fr. Praser underlines the good atmosphere. "We have many documents and resources, but the most important is to keep that spirit of Fraternity among us, showing how happy we feel to serve the youth," he said.
25 Members of the THA Provincial Chapter 2016 gathered in the Don Bosco Retreat House of Hua Hin during for five days of working sessions. The Provincial Chapter had two goals: the implementation of the General Chapter 27 and the reshaping of Salesian Presences in the Province.
The THA Salesian Provinces include main works in Thailand, Cambodia (two communities) and Laos (one community). The Salesians came to Thailand in the 1927. After the Cambodian Civil War, the Salesians from Bangkok opened technical schools at the refugee camps and established the Don Bosco Technical School in Phnom Penh in 1991. Laos is the most recent opening with a Vocation Training Center in the capital of Vientiane.
