2017 Salesian Family Spirituality Days in Rome (II): Awesome experience of worldwide Salesian Family!

Salesianum, Rome, 21 January 2017 -- How to accompany the families - parents, children and those who are preparing for marriage? This was one of the key questions during past 3 days in the world wide Salesian Family spirituality days in Rome, started on January 19th.

Among the 380 mainly European participants did emerge this time in a special way the Caritas Sisters of Jesus, with a slot of 10 participants.

Two groups sharing encounters helped the Caritas sisters (with a help of simultaneous translation from Korean to Japanese and from Japanese to Korean) to share the fruits of these days and pointers for family ministry of the Congregation. Sharing simply their own experience with families in difficulties touched the hearts of all participants: single mothers shelter in provincial house, special care about kids from poor families in the parish, reaching out to the slum families with simple sharing or listening to the stress and hardships of married Catholics.

Looking together how to put in practice the 2017 Strenna for the Salesian Family, emerged some simple, but deep and practical inspirations or resolutions:

• We can accompany 1000 families in difficult situations, if each one of our Sister will take care about one family!


• We need simply just to listen with empathy and patience to the families in our apostolate.


• Family ministry is part of our DNA from the origin of our Congregation, we need patient walking with the families.


• After this SF days I'm more confident to present our Congregation to other SF groups in my country


• Deep emotions felt as member of one large, huge world wide family of Don Bosco! Need to continue at home!


• It was impressive to meet so many lay people who love Don Bosco (Alumni, Salesian Cooperators, ADMA...), it was a wonderful discovery. And we are part of this large movement helping other families...

All Sisters were enriched by this awesome experience of world-wide Salesian Family and grateful for this occasion. They hope that next year the 'Caritas slot for participation may be upgraded to 15 or more Sisters!
