4451(II)_With Don Bosco following Jesus for ever - in Project Europe
GBR Perpetual profession of two Salesian missionary
July 29, 2017
London, Great Britain, 16 July 2017 -- "I make the vow for ever to live obedient, poor and chaste according to the way of the Gospel set out in the Salesian Constitutions...."
On July 16, in the parish of the Sacred Heart of Battersea (London) took place the perpetual professions of two Salesian missionaries (GBR), Cl. Joseph Tran (Vietnam) and Cl. Gregory Echegwo, (Nigeria). Both young Salesians Joseph and Greg are currently studying theology in London.
Among the present were many young people, parishioners, Salesians. As witnesses to this important moment in the life of each Salesian were also Fr. Guillermo Basañes, General Councilor for the Missions and Fr Gerry Briody, Provincial of GBR province.
With the start of Project Europe by General Chapter 26 (2008) the GBR province received from the Rector Major a decent number of young missionaries from different countries. Their dynamic and humble presence does contribute to relaunch the charism in this province. Also this year one young chinese Salesian from Hong Kong will be sent to GBR province as member of the 148th Salesian missionary expedition on September 24, 2017.
