October 29, 2019
Lahore, Pakistan, 27 October 2019 -- Following three consecutive monthly meetings - called together by the Salesian community at Lahore, on Saturday 26 October the Don Bosco Past Pupils Association was launched for the first time in Pakistan. During the first meeting there were just two members, in the second meeting already 7 members and today no less than 16 members. The convener was always their Delegate, Brother Alex Abelgas who facilitated the marathon meeting with sharing, formation and finally with the election of the first officers of the local Don Bosco Past Pupils Centre in Lahore.
In the second half of the meeting held in the refectory at Don Bosco Lahore boarding house, the Past Pupils watched first very inspirational video about Don Bosco Vientiane (Laos), as a wonderful model of Past Pupils taking responsibility for an entire Vocational Training Centre for the first 10 years after it was opened. Then followed the power point presentation on the launching and first two years of activity of the Ulanbaatar Mongolia Past Pupils of Don Bosco (2018-2019). At the end of the meeting the core group of the first local chapter (centre) was elected, accompanied by their delegate, Br. Alex Abelgas.

Our first Past Pupil leadership asks for your prayers and is ready to learn from the 'elder' brothers in other EAO countries. They are excited to hear about the EAO regional congress in Japan (2020) and will start contacts with the World Presidency soon. Viva Don Bosco!
