4584(I)_Quinquenium Seminar on Psycho-Spiritual
December 16, 2017
Comoro, Indonesia, 14 December 2017 -- A group of fourteen Salesians composed of 2 lay brothers perpetually professed and 12 priests underwent an on-going formation the so-called quinquenium. The main theme of this formation encounter was psycho-spiritual.
Under the guidance of Fr. Yoseph OFMCap, an Indonesian Capuchin, these confreres were expected to know better themselves and the others in their community and spiritual life. However, as mentioned by the facilitator, this annual meeting was a continuation from the previous meeting held in Bali, Indonesia. Since there were many new comers in the meeting, Fr. Yoseph gladly repeated some insights an as introduction and thus could lead the new ones to understand what was going on.
There were two sessions: one in the morning and another in the afternoon. Every session was started with an action song then there would be a short presentation from the facilitator and enriched with personal experience sharing and reflections.
In this three-day meeting, Fr. Yoseph also gave two tests in order to know each participant using the Bar-On Emotional Quotient Inventory and Myerss Briggs Type Indicator. The purpose of having these tests was for the benefit of the participants to be able to set a balance between their intelligence as well as their emotion. By measuring their intelligence and emotional quotient, then they could act and behave properly. After having the tests, there were some suggestions offered for each and every participant in order to improve one’s skills and emotionally controled.
This activity would mean nothing unless helping out the participants in their prayer life. By knowing oneself or the type of personality thus could help to improve one’s spiritual life.
