November 16, 2016
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam -- Last November 11-12th, 2016, provincial team of communication of FMA Vietnam (VTN) hosted the training course of skills of photo-taking and news writing for animators of communication of communities. The course was taken place at the Provincial House with 22 participants. This was one of activities of 6 year plan in order to cultivate sisters who have been animators of communication of each community.
Sr. Maria Concetta Tran Thi La, Vice Provincial opened the course. She recalled sisters the message of Pope Francis for the 50th World Communications Day on the theme "Communication and Mercy: A Fruitful Encounter". With simple words, she desired participants to become good communicators of Good News of Divine Mercy through engaging dialogue, listening, receiving information with attention and evaluation. She wished the course helpful and meaningful for all and for the mission.
The main lecturer of the course was Sr. Clara Vu Minh Trang, provincial coordinator of communication. She shared with the participants two topics: photography and news writing. With rich and well prepared resources, she gave participants necessary knowledge and opportunities to practice what they had just learned.
Besides, the course was supported of photographic techniques by photographer Dinh Quang Thang. With his remarks and comments on art and techniques, sisters learnt many useful things.
The afternoon of the second day was devoted to evaluation and discussion of collaboration among members to form a common data bank as well as to enrich the Province’s website with texts by and for young people. Sr. Anna Doan Thi Bich Uyen, provincial councillor of communication was also present during this encounter and shared with the group some important highlights: each one build for herself a good sense so that even through an image, a message, a comment she can convey a message of education and evangelization. She also reminded sisters of wisdom and prudence in the use of media. The Province has high hopes and believed in sisters when assigning them in this service.
The course ended, the sisters returned home with much enthusiasm because of something new that had been learned. Hope that in the near future there will be more news, features of education from communities uploaded on VTN website in order to through media, evangelizing mission and Salesian charism bear more fruit for young people "to live and live in abundance".
