3810_Sports’ Fest in Don Bosco Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, 21 November 2015 - Don Bosco Caring Center hosted a sports festival in the vicinity of Ulaanbaatar to make Don Bosco’s presence felt. There were 20 caring centers were present for the event. There were around 100 young people who participated in the basketball tournament. The sports’ Fest began in the morning and went on till late evening.

In the opening talk was delivered by Fr. Andy, SDB the superior delegate of Mongolia. In his short talk, he emphasized on Don Bosco’s profound love for the young. “All those who were attracted by Don Bosco transformed themselves and became better persons and it is possible for all of us”, he said.

At the end of the festival the young people were awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals and the championship cup.

There are around 35 caring centers with around one and half million populations in the city of Ulaanbaatar. There are only 3 to 4 centers are taken care by the government. All the rest is managed by foreign agencies. Don Bosco UB gives shelter to many poor and homeless children throughout the year. Thus, Don Bosco and his Charism is made fully alive among the young people.
