4355(V)_“Leaders by Example”
Installation of New FIN Rectors
April 22, 2017
Batulao, the Philippines, 22 April 2017 -- Eight confreres made their profession of faith as new rectors during the concluding mass of the third and last batch of the Salesian Annual Retreat in Mary Help of Christians Center of Spirituality.
Right after the homily, Fr. Anthony Paul Bicomong, SDB, FIN Provincial Superior, called the newly appointed Rectors: Fr. Joel Camaya (DBC Canlubang), Fr. Ferdinand Camilo (Savio Parish), Fr. Jose Armando Cortez (DBA Mabalacat), Fr. Jose Favie Faldas (DBTI Makati), Fr. Martin Macasaet (DB Batulao), Fr. Clarence Panganiban (DB San Jose), and Fr. Jerry Santos (DBTI Tarlac). They made their profession of faith in Latin before the altar, the Superior, and in front of the confreres who joined the third and last batch of the annual retreat.
Fr. Paul, harping on the joyous and hopeful tone of the eastertide, reaffirmed our belief in the resurrection and posed its challenge to the confreres—to proclaim the Word to the whole world. He expressed his gratitude to the Lord for, among the confreres, we have leaders who by their example help us to remain faithful to our mission.
Fr. Peter Varengo, SDB preached this year’s annual retreat. We accompany our confreres, new Rectors of their communities, in this service of authority.
