Auckland, New Zealand -- On the 29th of January the Pacific Delegation (AUL) of Fiji, New Zealand and Samoa will be officially started in Samoa with the presence of the AUL provincial and with the six prenovices starting their novitiate in Suva (Fiji).
In each of the 3 countries of the Pacific Delegation there is a feeling of fresh air, to bring up the Pacific face of Don Bosco more alive!
In Auckland (New Zealand) Avondale Parish we celebrated the feast of Don Bosco yesterday as parish family and Salesian Family of Don Bosco. Msgr David Tonks presided over the Eucharist. During the Mass the first batch of the Aspirants to the Association of Salesian Cooperators in our parish was admitted to the Aspirantate and blessed. Kindly keep them in your prayers!
We plan to meet twice a month for the formation program. We need still to form for the lay leadership. Since the Avondale Aspirants as all our parishioners are from a variety of ethnic back grounds, I feel the need to socialize more in order to help them to get to know each other.
We shall certainly be happy for your prayers for this new Salesian Family Group in New Zealand.
