5720(III)_Celebration of Blessed Michael Rua in St John Bosco Parish, Taipei Taiwan
By Delphin
Taipei, Taiwan, 31 October 2021 -- On 29 October 2021 the SDBs from Blessed Michael Rua Salesian Specific Formation phase for students for the priesthood (the theologate BR) with the Salesian Cooperators belonging to the Blessed Michael Rua community had the joy of celebrating their blessed patron.
Although we are still living in the atmosphere of COVID-19, it did not stop us celebrating our blessed patron in moderation. The celebration started with solemn vespers at 17:30 followed by the holy Eucharist at which our Rector Fr Alphonsus Cheng Tai Kei was main celebrant and which was and attended by all the confreres, one FMA and some 14 Salesian Cooperators from the Blessed Rua community. Not all could come because they were still at work. After the Eucharistic celebration, we shared a simple meal and had time to chat with each other.
With this simple but very meaningful festive atmosphere we try to strengthen our Salesian Family spirit and the sense of belonging and collaboration in the same mission: work for and with the young people, especially those who are advantaged of our society.
We entrust ourselves to your prayers, so that we can continue to work hand in hand with the members of the Salesian Family for the realization and visibility of our charism and identity in this part of the island in which there are only few Christians. We ask you also to pray for peace, because recently the tensions between Mainland China and Taiwan are very high. Please pray that worse does not happen.
May Blessed Michael Rua intercede for us all to live out with fidelity, faith, love and trust in Mary Help of Christians our Salesian charism and identity as he lived it.
