Interruptions to service initially due to server failure at weekend. It appears many or most did not receive n.2286, though its contents were ultimately published via ANS; subsequently I was away from email contact in Austria. The coming week may be similar - I will be on retreat. Let's do what we can in the meantime! jbf)

Vicar of Rector Major visits Thailand

BANGKOK: 13th November 2008 -- Fr. Adrian Bregolin, the vicar of the Rector Major, arrived at the Provincial House, Bangkok, on the evening of Sunday 9 November, 2008.  On Monday 10th he went to Chiang Mai by plane where he met the confreres and visited the Salesian work there.  In the evening he returned to Bangkok and then proceded to Nazareth House, Banpong, where he remained overnight.
    On the Tuesday Fr Bregolin visited Sarasit School. He gave the morning talk to all students of the school then met the Rectors of the province at Nazareth House. In the afternoon he visited Don Bosco Technical School, St. Joseph Church, Narivooth School (run by the FMA) and the Salesian Cemetery.  Later that afternoon he met the confreres of THA Province at Nazareth House. In the name of the Rector Major he spoke of three core aspects of the recent GC26: as an Event, a Document, a Spirituality.  The event is now over, the document is handed to us and it calls on us to live the spirituality of the Da mihi animas cetera tolle with passion.
    The celebration of the Eucharist that followed saw the involvement of Salesian aspirants from Hua Hin and Nazareth House, the confreres and some members of the Salesian Family.
    November 12 saw a visit to the Salesian Formation House at Sampran, Don Bosco School and St. Dominic School in Bangkok and the Centre for the blind at Pakkred. Towards evening he met members of the Salesian Family at the Provincial House in Bangkok.
    Fr Bregolin left for Indonesia early on the morning of 13th.
