Salesian
Cooperators ...and then there were four!
(Lk 10:1 'He sent them out ahead of him, in pairs, to all the
towns and villages he himself was to visit')
ULAAN BAATAR: 25th July 2008 -- On 24th July, in the
presence of two provincials (SDB from Vietnam and FMA from Korea) two
Mongolian women made their solemn promise as Salesian
Cooperators. The first two made their promise at the EAR Congress
in Macau on 24th May. So now there are four.
In 2001 the first two Salesians came to Mongolia as
missionaries. By now there are three communities in the country
with 9 confrères - one from the Philippines, one from Korea, one
from China, two from Poland and four from Vietnam.
In 2007 the first two Salesian Sisters came to
Mongolia (from the Philippines and Korea). Now there are three.
The first three groups of the Salesian Family
founded directly by St. John Bosco are present now in Mongolia as
educators and evangelisers of the young. We believe their
cooperation will bear much fruit.
