Japan launches cosmetic line after Artemides
Zatti!
TOKYO: 24th March 2007 -- There is more than one story with Salesian
connections to Doctor Urushibata, famous Tokyo dermatologist, but amongst the
most interesting is that his wife has just launched a new line in cosmetics,
appropriately named 'Artemides Zatti'. Appropriately, you ask?
Perhaps you should read the story behind the story....
Fr Angelo Yamamouchi, of the Japan province who,
incidentally has four brothers all Salesian priests and was born in Argentina,
received a phone call on 15th March (the day of the liturgical commemoration of
Blessed Artemides Zatti). It was from Doctor Urushibata, announcing that
he had just received permission from the authorities to open a clinic, and that
he would be naming the clinic 'Artemides Zatti', in honour of the humble but
great infirmarian-cum-medico from Argentina who had so lovingly cared for the
ill in Viedma for many years. It was, in fact, Fr Angelo who had made the
suggestion for the naming of the clinic. Fr Angelo, currently heading up a
Salesian and local diocese pastoral project to reach out to immigrants in
Hamamatsu, had baptised the entire Urushibati family four years ago when he was
parish priest at Saginuma. The desire for baptism came about because the
children were attending the nearby Salesian kindergarten.
It would be no surprise to know that the children, a boy and
a girl, took Dominic and Laura respectively for their baptismal names!
