austraLasia #2731 'Heaven on earth' targets the unchurched
Manila: 10 October 2010 -- The Social Communication Commission
of the FIN Province, led by Fr Noel Osial, made its initial broadcast
on 9 October 2010 of two new radio programs over Radio Inquirer DZIQ
990 AM, the newest venture of the Inquirer Group of Companies. Their
first program called “Langit sa Lupa” (Heaven on Earth) is broadcast
every Saturday evening 6:00-7:00.
Originally conceived as an on-the-air Bible Study,
“Langit sa Lupa” is a bearer of good news targeting primarily the
“un-churched” as audience. Its medium is 'flexi-talk' or the colloquial
language of the people of the streets. Its format is that of an
interactive radio-magazine composed of various segments, mostly
departing from current events in the country given a
Christ-perspective. “Langit sa Lupa” opted not to be a religious hard
sell.
Their second program, which airs on Sunday mornings
6:30-7:30, broadcasts the Sunday Mass. DZIQ currently has a band reach
spanning 136 km south and 124 km north of Metro-Manila. Both programs
are prepared and hosted (any two or three) by three Salesians and four
lay mission partners. This is an added radio broadcast apostolate for
the FIN confreres besides their existing program over Radio Veritas
whose mission is for the deepening of the faith of the “churched”
sector of listeners. _________________ AustraLasia is an
