SEMINAR INVITATION: YOUTH PASTORAL MINISTRY IN AUSTRALASIA

CEBU: 6th February -- Following the meeting of the Provincials of the

Australasian region in Melbourne last May ('97), the proposed seminar on

Youth Pastoral Ministry has now been arranged for May 4-9 of this year

at Cebu.

The invitation has been extended to Provincials of the Region to send

their YP delegate and up to three other representatives to Cebu.

Seminar organizers hope that the meeting will be able to establish a

clearer understanding of Salesian Youth Ministry in the context of GC 24

and local circumstances in Asia and Australia. They also hope to

discover areas for collaboration between the Provinces and a sharing of

enriching experiences.

Fr. Anthony Domenich, General Councillor for Youth Ministry, will speak

to the question of the identity of Salesian Youth Pastoral Work. Fr.

Mario Baclig of Philippines North will address the Asian context. A

third theme looking at the SDB and Laity together in Youth Ministry will

be handled by Fr. Chrys Saldhana of the National Formation Centre in

Bangalore. A detailed programme of activities is available from the

local Provincial in each member province of the Region.
