FIN and CIN: Six New Confreres between
them
(From Diwang Busko)
CANLUBANG
(Phil): 8th May 2005 -- On the 6th of May six young confreres made
their first religious profession as Salesians of Don Bosco before Fr. Andrew
Wong, SDB FIN Provincial, representing the Rector Major, and in the presence of
many Salesians, family members, friends, and young people. The ceremony
took place at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians, Don Bosco
Canlubang.
Bros. Marlon Eleosida, Umijun Binueza,
Jake Adrian Lopez, Michael Angelo Hernandez and Kristian Kris Laygo belong to
the Philipines North Province; while Bro. Carlos Cheung Sam Loi belongs to
the China Province.
Salesian Bishop Leo Drona of the
Diocese of San Pablo - Laguna presided over the Eucharistic celebration which
coincided with the feast of St. Dominic Savio. Bishop Drona encouraged the
young Salesians to find inspiration from John Paul II's call not to be afraid:
of one's personal weaknesss and of the world's enticements. All of which
can be overcome by rootedness in Christ, in His Word and in his Spirit.
Instead of thinking of the sacrifices demanded of the Salesian, the bishop
encouraged the new confreres to think rather of Christ's unbounded love, to see
them through.
