November 18, 2019
Xuan Hiep, Thu Duc, Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, 18 November 2019 –- The aspirants of Don Bosco Xuan Hiep brought with them their ‘artworks’ when coming to the Salesian theologate for their Sunday activities as usual here on Sunday morning, 17 November 2019.
Actually, these are their wall-newspapers made to express their gratitude to the Salesians who have been helping them on the occasion of the Vietnam teacher’s day on 20 November every year. They found their own ways to show the writings, poem, music about teachers and gratitude to teachers who have helped them during their life. They really made them artworks with their hard work, talents and creativity.
There were six teams. Five were from different five boarding houses and a team of aspirants who were not in these houses. Every team showed their work and one representative of the team explained the meaning of their work. Then the Salesians gave them evaluations for their work. They had some dances between the presentations of the six teams.
Most of the aspirants of Don Bosco Xuan Hiep come from different provinces of Vietnam. They are studying in universities and colleges in Ho Chi Minh city and staying in some boarding houses with the accompaniment of the Salesians.
Every Sunday, there are around 80 aspirants who come to the Salesian theologate and have their activities for the whole day here. They have some classes of catechism, Salesianity and human values in the morning, followed by lunch with the Salesians. Then they have skills training after a short break, sports and a snack after that and some thoughts and announcements from a Salesian before they go home.
