HUA HIN: 11th March 2005 --  It has been the busiest of days, the final day, at Hua Hin: an open forum of question/answer with the Rector Major (which will be reported later in the day), group evaluations, final preparation of the vision and mission statement for the Region.  Herewith that statement, without any of the accompanying details.  Simple, straightforward, important!

 

    We envision EAO as a communion of Salesian Provinces, creatively faithful to Don Bosco’s Charism and effectively collaborating with each other to be evangelizers of the young, especially those who are poor.

 

Thus, we commit ourselves

1.   to inculturate the Preventive System in our Provinces (communion, charism and evangelization)

2.   to cooperate in common projects like (of) formation, youth ministry, salesian family, social communications and other services (collaboration)

3.   (to strengthen and deepen our communication with other) to use English as the medium of communication in EAO (communion)
