A day of sharing - it's all about
passion.
HUA HIN: 7th March 2005 -- The day is drawing to a close
in Thailand. This evening EAOTV participants watch a video on the Tsunami
relief effort in Thailand, after a Goodnight by Bishop Joseph Prathan.
Provinces have spent the day in groups, sharing their
response to the 'deepen spiritual life' theme. Herewith just a single line
of comment from each of the Provinces to indicate some of the directions
emerging: AUL - need to increase reflection time on retreat as well as meeting
together CIN - (as one of five priorities: rediscover the power and beauty
of our Constitutions and Regulations, not only public reading but life sharing
FIN - individualism stifles growth and deepening of the spiritual life FIS -
revisit and share personal plan of life GIA - we have to produce an atmosphere
conducive to holiness in a communitarian way ITM - promote friendly talk as
result of spiritual relationship between confreres and rector KOR - small
communities find friendly talk and conferences difficult to arrange THA -
by reviving youth group experiences we foster our Salesian spirituality VIE -
insist on the personal plan of life.
The RM reflected on all this making the point that
Religious Life today requires people of passion, fire and love. Reading Fr
Braido's 2 v olumes on Don Bosco one sees immediately - Don Bosco went at every
initiative with passion. And this is our spiritual life - passion, fire
and God-centred.
Some more complete aspects of today's reflections and
the RM's response will be available on
www.bosconet.aust.com shortly - in about
two hours time.
