St Francis de Sales: pictures
galore!
BERKELEY: 21st January 2005 -- With the Feast of St
Francis de Sales just a few days away (Monday coming), Salesians would be
interested in following up the Oblates of St Francis de Sales (OSFS) website,
and in particular the work of the International Commission on Salesian Studies
(ICSS):
www.franz-von-sales.de . The
site might have a German address but it is also available in English.
Within that site you can click on 'Francis de Sales in
Art' and there find a wonderful picture gallery of images of St. Francis de
Sales assembled by Fr Valdir Formentini OSFS. Images are in both colour
and black and white and include statues, stained-glass windows, relics, Saleisan
sites and so forth.
The bringer of these glad tidings has been Fr Joe Boenzi
SUO (no, not a breakaway Salesian group, just the Western USA province!) who has
been closely involved with the work of the ICSS over a number of years, and
makes consistent efforts to remind the SDB element of the wider Salesian Family,
that based directly on St Francis de Sales himself, of developments in the study
of our Congregational Patron Saint.
