austraLasia #2631 Annual Congress Salesian Cooperators, Japan
CHOFU: 26 April 2010 -- The annual Salesian Cooperators Congress
in
Japan was held at Chofu on 24 April. In addition to the two Provincials
(SDB and FMA) the provincial delegates for the Cooperators and for the
Salesian Family were in attendance. One representative from far away
Kyushu also took part.
During the Mass at which the provincial, Fr Cipriani presided, three
aspirants made their promises thus bringing the number of Cooperators
in Japan to 136.
The meeting in the afternoon saw an evaluation
of work carried out
over the past year, a year which concluded on 31 March in Japanese
terms. They approved the action plan for the new year just begun.
Following the Strenna for this year which
invites us to bring
young people to the Gospel and the Gospel to the young, the Salesian
Cooperators in Japan renewed their commitment to throwing light on the
circumstances of young people in Japan from a Salesian perspective .
Some of them are teachers in our works, others
are involved in organising the Volunteer Movement; others still help
out in the parishes, and those who can no longer be out front because
of age limitations help with their prayers.
The different groups have their aspirants,
which offers hope that the Salesian Cooperators in Japan can grow in
both quality and quantity. _________________ AustraLasia is an
