GC25: ASSEMBLY DISCUSSIONS MOVING TO FINALIZE

Commission #2 - discussion on 'Evangelical
witness' is now closed - the commmission will now finalize its
document.
Commission #3 - 'animating presence amongst
the young'. Ongoing disucssion looking at, amongst other things -
new' presences amongst the young in terms of areas
like media/communications, ecology, peace/solidarity; need for a real sense of
creativity, enthusiasm, courage, new ideas; bridging the gap between SDB and
playground...various ways of translating 'presence' in different situations;
presence in the national and global community, and taking a stand on youht's
problems in the world. Discussion now closed; the commission goes back to
work.
Commission #4 - 'Salesian community:
privileged setting for animation and formation'. Discussion
centred on being more helpful (in the text) to Rectors. There is silence
on the role of the vicar in the community. More work for the commission to
do obviously. But Assembly discussion now closed.
Commission #6 - still some reworking of
(1) structures of the congregation (2) province assembly in place of
mid-term provincial chapter (3) revision of art. 24 Regs with regard to Economer
General being part of this.
