4668_Course on the Preventive System of Saint John Bosco

Dalat, Vietnam, 11 March 2018 -- Don Bosco Da Lat has organized a course on the Preventive System of St. John Bosco for members of the Salesian Family in the locality. The organizers aim at equipping participants with educational principles of St. John Bosco so that they may put into practice and enrich the Salesian mission.
The course was opened on March 10, 2018. Father Joseph Nguyen Chan Hung, the rector of the philosophical institute of Da Lat, gave an insightful opening speech. He encouraged the participants and wished them fruitful studies.
Father Francis Pham Dinh Phuoc, Prefect of Studies, gave the participants an orientation on the course. He emphasized that the Preventive System is the pearl of the Salesian Family; it helps members of the Salesian Family to realize the Educational project of St. John Bosco and compels them to evangelize.
Different themes will be presented by Salesian formators of Da Lat Community, including Fr. Joseph Nguyen Chan Hung, Fr. Joseph Do Duc Han, Fr. Paul Nguyen Minh Tuan, Fr. Francis Pham Dinh Phuoc, Fr. Dominic La Minh Cuong, Fr. Joseph Canh Vu Minh Phuoc, Fr. Martin Duong Quoc Huy and Fr. Dominic Nguyen Van Manh (missionary to Taiwan). There are 74 participants: 20 brothers of second year of philosophy, 5 teachers belonging to school for children in needs, 8 catechists of St. John Bosco parish, 18 Salesian Cooperators, 5 aspirants and 18 college students.
The classes take place every Saturday morning, from 7:30 am to 10am. Ten topics will be presented during the course. It is intended to end on Saturday, April 14, 2018.
4668_Sports Festival at Don Bosco Tan Tien Vocational Training Center

Tan Ha, Vietnam, 11 March 2018 - The Don Bosco Tan Tien Vocational Training Center held a sports festival on Tuesday, March 10, 2018. It was a competition of three teams: the host, the College of Economics of Bao Loc and the Educational Center of Lam Dong Province. The players were staffs of these three institutions.
The organizers of the Sports Festival aimed at fostering friendship among different educational institutions. They also wanted to promote athletic activities among the staffs.
The event began with the solemn opening by Fr. Anthony Nguyen Anh Tuan, SDB, rector. Then, Fr. Paul Nguyen Hong Tin, SDB, chief coordinator, guided the teams in drawing lots.
The players competed in two kinds of game: football and volleyball. The spectators enjoyed watching exiting matches in which the players showed their talents, skills and fair play.
The event brought together participants from three educational institutions and built up camaraderie among them. When the games were over, they gathered around tables for lunch in family spirit.
