Anisakan, Myanmar, 29 February 2016 - The Vice-province of Myanmar is hosting its first EAO regional meeting in history. The venue is Anisakan Don Bosco Retreat House, the 24 participants from all 11 Provinces of our region already reached the place on the evening of Feb 29, 2016.
On behalf of the General Economer the meeting is animated by Fr. Piotr Gozdalski and Mr. Fabio Buconi and the EAO coordinator Fr. Andy Satura did care about the contents and program.
Since both the EAO regional councilor and Economer General are not able to join this time, Fr. Václav sent a short message to the participants:
“I’m accompanying the Rector Major during next 11 days, so unfortunately I’m not able to be with you. Also Br. Jean Paul Muller, the Economer General encounter similar limits of for travels out of Italy. At least we try to accompany you during this encounter, to make it more fruitful!
Thanks a lot to all who make this 2016 EAO regional meeting of Provincial & Delegation Economers possible: Thanks and congratulation goes especially to the Superior of Myanmar Vice-province, Fr. Charles. Saw. Indeed, this is the first historical EAO regional encounter in MYM Vice-province since its establishment in 2004. Also the Mandalay-Anisakan based confreres and the provincial council did their best to make this experience really fruitful! Thank you so much!
The content of this meeting, since last June 2015, thanks to the personal interest of Br. Jean Paul Muller became well focused and the presence of Fr. Piotr and Mr. Fabio is a sign of accompaniment from the General Economers office. The presence of quite few lay mission partners involved in the Economer Office of many EAO provinces inspires a necessary growth in professional and Salesian capacity building of this important sector.
I’m happy that the new EAO Economers Coordinator Fr. Andy Satura (FIS) was able to collect many inspiring good practices from all 11 EAO provinces. There is a firm belief in our Region that the diversity of situations among the 22 EAO countries is a huge opportunity to grow, provided we learn from each other. The deeper is our sharing the more we bring back home to our daily praxis!”
During the three day program will intervene the two animators from Rome and 10 good practices from the EAO provinces will be shared and studied: Growth in self-sustainability of Salesian mission, Starting a Mission Office, Capacity building of the PDO (Planning and Development Office), The role of the business manager of the province, Provincial plan for the economy sector, Provincial directory: part – Poverty witness and others.
We are grateful to the MYM organizers and the whole hosting province as well we pray for the provincial and delegation Economers who are coming together for their better service in our provinces!
