Ho Chi Min City, Vietnam, 20 Novembre 2016 -- The Servant of God, Fr. Andre Majcen (1905-1999) called as Don Bosco of Vietnam was a well known fatherly figure during his life time in China, Vietnam and Slovenia. Mr. Francis Nguyen, one of his disciples and Don Bosco Past Pupils in synergy with the Salesians launched a wonderful initiative in HCM City - 'Bisto Mai-Sen' - a vocation training center for rural youth nearby the HCM airport. About 120 youngsters (young men and women) have opportunity to learn the bakery, cooking, hotel or restaurant skills in this place.
Upon their arrival to Vietnam, the four members of the Salesian Family Secretariat were able to appreciate personally this apostolic initiative, which bring together a service to the youth in need and spreading the fame of holiness of the Don Bosco of Vietnam. Especially the Postulator General, Fr. Pier Luigi Cameroni was excited to visit this Majcen's place.
And accidentally another good news related to our Servant of God came from his homeland of Slovenia. The vice-postulator of his cause, former provincial Fr. Alojzij Snoj shares the news (November 18):
"Diocesan tribunal for the cause of beatification in Ljublanja in today's session accepted officially the testimonials deposited in Vietnam as part of the documentation of the process. I hope that in few months we can finalize also the historical commission. Tomorrow in Rakovnik (Ljublanja - Slovenia) we have a Salesian Family gathering".
And the General Postulator Fr Cameroni in confident that the diocesan phase of the beatification process in Slovenia may be concluded before the end of next year 2017. And of course, he invites all Salesian Family member to know better and pray to the Servant of God.
