Macau, CIN, 8 June 2017 -- As every year, also in the early June 2017 we have released the Annual Report of the Macau (CIN province) based 'Bosco Youth Service Network' for the year 2016.
We are happy to share the 10 page summary report (English version) of our activities for the benefit of the young people of Macau. As a Catholic non profit organization founded by Salesians, social workers, teachers, students and volunteers since 1992 we are able to extend our services to more youth in need.
From the early days we support the primary activity - Sunday Youth Center in the campus of Instituto Salesiano (Mother house of the China province) - for some 100 teenagers every week. At present we have some 40 active volunteers, some of them with more than 10 years of experience. For past five years we extended our services from Sunday to 7/7 days per week, offering a 'Diverse after-school development project'. We congratulate to our volunteers who have been awarded with the Civic Education Award 2016 presented by the Youth Affairs Committee of the Macau SAR Government.
Beyond our primary aim we assist the young people with School Counselling Services in 4 Salesian schools (Instituto Salesiano, Yuet Wah College, Chan Sui Ki Perpetual Help College and St Maria Mazarello School). During last 2016 twenty school counsellors have been assigned to 9 schools during the whole school year with 3500 case interviews and 766 different activities.
Our religious activities comprise Passover Meal, spiritual learning, retreats, assistance to Sunday Mass as well the assistance to 'Voice of Mary' internet radio station (www.voiceofmary.org.mo) which broadcasts live through this website. Youth Talk radio program and different religious services are targeting the young people.
Supported by some Salesian Family members - Salesian Cooperators and Don Bosco Alumni we aim to be more consistent in serving the youth of Macau also in the future.
