Tokyo, Japan, 13 November 2016 -- Yesterday during the Sunday Mass we had a 7-5-3 (Shichi-Go-San, a traditional festival in Japan for seven, five, and three years old children) celebration in the Eucharist at Himonya Parish.
Our parish priest Fr. Achille Loro Piana and the director of the Salesian Kindergarten Fr. Pawel Glogowski blessed 50 children who attended the Mass with their parents and their friends. They prayed for their health and success in their life as well for their future dream.
Shichi Go San is celebrated as rite of passage to middle childhood, an ancient ritual with roots in the Heian period (AD 794-1185) in the royal court. At present is celebrated by all children around Japan as public festival.
