John Butana Thusi, one of the eleven
Brothers at the chapter and the delegate of the South African 'Visitatoria' speaks his mind:
_______________________________________________________________________________________
Too much of talking in theories that will never be realized, very little in
terms of practical doing things as expected by our confreres back in our
provinces.
Rapid drift towards clericalism than being Salesian religious brothers and priests.
The majority of the confreres don't seem to believe nor want to understand the
vocation of the Salesian brother as conceived by Don Bosco. To me the brothers cannot push this forward by
themselves because it is not within their virtue to fight for this than serve
god in the spirit of Don Bosco.
Finally, la Pisana ought to appear like an
international house of Salesians universally in terms
of popular linguistic usage and availability of reading matter, let alone quick
lesson on CD for Italian. It would be a good gesture to us if a few things were
made available in English rather than having everything in Italian. This does
not make one feel very welcome here.
Otherwise everything is good.
Bro. John Bhutana Thusi.
