October 20, 2015By Fr. Savio Angelo Sanchez, SDB
Port Moresby, PNG, October 20th 2015 - The Salesian communities in Port MOresby (Delegation House, DBTI, Savio House and DBTS) gathered in Don Bosco Technical School for a farewell dinner in honour of Fr. Anthony Paul Bicomong (FIN Provincial) who has just concluded his canonical visit in the PNG-SI Delegation. In the name of the confreres, Fr. Peter Baquero (Delegate Superior) thanked Fr. Paul for his presence and for animating the different communities. The fraternal dinner ended with the "Good Night" Talk given by Fr. Paul.
In his short but heartfelt message, Fr. Provincial expressed his admiration and appreciation for the apostolic zeal shown by many confreres in the Delegation. He encouraged everybody to continue the many good works being done in the different communities. Furthermore, he underlined the importance of the formation of confreres especially as the Delegation is now gearing up towards becoming a Vice Province. Fr. Paul also expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality given him everywhere he went.
After his "Good Night," Fr. Provincial imparted his blessing. Now that the canonical visitation is over, it is time to put into practice the recommendations given by Fr. Provincial to each Salesian community. His visit was truly a moment of grace for the Delegation. His presence brought God's blessing to the different communities. And for this, the Salesian Family in this part of the world gives him a resounding "TENKYU TRU!"
